Poppy seeds are the blue, sun-ripened seeds of an annual poppy that is native to Asia and also grown in Australia. Sprinkle on breads and pastries before baking. Use for cakes, strudel and biscuits. Toss through hot cooked noodles or sprinkle on salads. Also use in dips and spreads with cream or cottage cheese.
