Plain Flour (Sifted)

Salt
1/2 tsp
 
White Pepper
1/2 tsp
 
Butter
4 tbsp
 
MasterFoods Freshly Crushed Garlic
2 tsp
 
Milk
150 ml
 

Preparation

  1. Preheat oven to 230°C.
  2. Sieve the dry ingredients together.
  3. Rub in the butter or margarine until the mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs.
  4. Add the MasterFoods Freshly Crushed Garlic and enough of the milk to form a soft, but not wet, dough.
  5. Divide the dough in two and dust with flour.
  6. Press each half into a round cake tin, 2cm thick.
  7. Put each onto a baking tray and divide into six with a knife but do not separate the pieces.
  8. Bake for 10-15 minutes until the scones are golden brown, well risen and the underside sounds hollow when tapped.
  9. Serve warm, split and buttered.
